Kia Carens Clavis EV 2026 Update: 6-Seater, New Trims

Kia Carens Clavis EV Receives Comprehensive Model Year 2026 Refresh

Kia India has rolled out a significant update for its all-electric MPV, the Kia Carens Clavis EV, marking the Model Year 2026 with expanded variants, fresh styling options, and a new 6-seater configuration. This overhaul focuses on enhancing comfort, design, and overall usability, positioning the vehicle as a more versatile choice in the competitive electric vehicle market.

Introducing the 6-Seater Layout with Captain Seats

One of the most notable additions in this update is the introduction of a 6-seater layout, featuring second-row captain seats. Previously, the Carens Clavis EV was exclusively offered as a 7-seater. The new seating arrangement is now available across multiple trims, including HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and X-Line. Buyers still have the option to choose the 7-seater configuration in select variants. Importantly, there is no price difference between the 6-seater and 7-seater versions, making this upgrade a value-added feature for consumers.

Expanded Trim Line-Up with Distinct Styling

Kia has broadened the Carens Clavis EV line-up by introducing GT-Line and X-Line trims for the Extended Range variants. These new trims bring unique styling updates to the MPV:

  • GT-Line Variants (GTX and GTX+): These models sport a more aggressive, sportier look with new alloy wheel designs, lime green brake calipers, and metal pedals, appealing to those seeking a dynamic driving experience.
  • X-Line Trim: Focused on a rugged appearance, this trim features an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior shade, with the option of Aurora Black Pearl, catering to buyers who prefer a bold, adventurous aesthetic.

Enhanced Features for Top Variants

The MY26 update also brings new features to the premium variants. The GTX+ and X-Line trims now come equipped with a digital key and battery heating function, improving convenience and performance in colder climates. Meanwhile, Standard Range variants receive updated 16-inch black aero-optimised alloy wheels, enhancing efficiency and style.

Inside, the Carens Clavis EV continues to offer a premium cabin experience, highlighted by a large 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, over 85 connected car features, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ensuring a luxurious and tech-forward environment for all occupants.

Unchanged Powertrain with Impressive Range

Mechanically, the Carens Clavis EV remains unchanged, retaining its reliable electric powertrain. It is powered by two battery pack options:

  1. A 42 kWh unit delivering an ARAI-certified range of 404 km.
  2. A larger 51.4 kWh battery offering up to 490 km on a single charge.

The electric motor produces up to 126 kW of power and 255 Nm of torque, providing ample performance for daily driving and long trips. The MPV supports fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes, reducing downtime and enhancing practicality.

Pricing Details

In terms of pricing, the Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Standard Range HTK+ 7-seater variant. The range extends up to Rs 24.99 lakh for the top-spec GTX+ and X-Line Extended Range variants. Prices remain identical for both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, ensuring flexibility without additional cost.

This update underscores Kia India's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the evolving electric vehicle segment, offering more choices and features to meet diverse consumer needs.
