Lumio Unveils Vision 9 (2026) Smart TV in India with Competitive Pricing and Advanced Features
Lumio has officially launched its highly anticipated Vision 9 (2026) Smart TV in the Indian market, presenting a compelling spec sheet that challenges competitors at its price point. The 65-inch variant will be available for purchase starting April 24 on major e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart, with an initial price of Rs 72,999. After applying bank offers and coupons, the effective price drops to Rs 64,999, making it an attractive option for premium TV buyers. A more compact 55-inch version is scheduled to arrive in May, expanding the lineup for different consumer preferences.
Comprehensive Hardware and Display Specifications
The Lumio Vision 9 (2026) boasts a sophisticated QD MiniLED display built on an Enhanced VA panel. This technology delivers a native contrast ratio of 7000:1 and an impressive dynamic contrast of 100,000:1, ensuring deep blacks and vibrant visuals. Color performance is exceptional, covering over 100% of the NTSC spectrum and reaching up to 82% of Rec.2020, with Delta E color accuracy under 1.9. This precision means skin tones and gradients appear natural without visible banding. The display achieves a peak brightness of 800 nits and supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10 formats for enhanced viewing experiences.
Powering the TV is MediaTek's Pentonic 700 chipset, coupled with 3GB of DDR4 RAM. Lumio claims the storage is twice as fast as competing TVs in this segment, promising smooth performance whether users are switching between applications or engaging in intensive gaming sessions. This hardware combination aims to eliminate lag and ensure a responsive interface.
Gaming and Audio Capabilities
Gaming enthusiasts will find the Vision 9 (2026) particularly appealing. It supports 4K resolution at 144Hz and 1080p at 240Hz, with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) operating across a wide 48–240Hz range. The input lag is remarkably low at just 9.7ms, thanks to Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). HDMI 2.1 with FRL signaling supports bandwidth up to 48Gbps, placing this TV on par with dedicated gaming monitors for seamless gameplay.
Audio quality is handled by a robust 50W DGS 2.2 system featuring six drivers: dual subwoofers, dual full-range speakers, and dual tweeters. Bass extends down to 38Hz at 70dB, doubling the output of the previous generation. Dolby Atmos support further enhances the immersive sound experience, making it suitable for both movies and gaming.
Software Innovations and Content Discovery
The Vision 9 (2026) runs on Android 14, integrated with Lumio's TLDR 2.0 content discovery platform. This updated version introduces 34 new AI-driven features designed to simplify content search. It provides daily-updated Top 10 rankings across various streaming platforms, curated collections with a unified Lumio Rating, and smart search filters by language, genre, and platform. The goal is to significantly reduce the time users spend searching for something to watch, enhancing overall convenience.
Refreshed Vision 7 (2026) Model
Alongside the flagship, Lumio has refreshed the Vision 7 (2026) model with notable upgrades. Storage capacity has increased to 64GB, which is four times more than before and twice as fast. A new satellite port allows access to up to 540 free channels via DD Free Dish without any subscription required. TLDR 2.0 is also included in this model, and Lumio has announced that the update will be rolled out to last year's Vision TVs as well. The Vision 7 (2026) will go on sale April 24 in 43-inch (Rs 29,999) and 55-inch (Rs 39,999) variants.
Project Neo: AI-Powered Content Control via WhatsApp
Perhaps the most innovative announcement is Project Neo, a new initiative from Lumio Labs that transforms WhatsApp and Instagram into TV remotes. This AI-powered system enables users to control their TVs through messaging apps they already use daily. For example, sending a WhatsApp message like "movies where the villain wins" or forwarding an Instagram Reel to Lumio's TLDR bot allows the AI to parse the intent, find where the content is streaming, and build a watchlist directly on the TV.
There is no need to install a new app, as co-founder Kailash Sankaranarayanan explained: people discover content on their phones but watch it on TV, so the interface should reside where users already spend hours each day. Project Neo is set to roll out across all Lumio devices later this year, promising a seamless integration between mobile and TV experiences.
Warranty and Service Support
Both the Vision 9 and Vision 7 models come with a comprehensive two-year warranty. Service support is extensive, available across more than 300 service centers and covering over 19,000 pincodes nationwide, ensuring accessibility and reliability for customers across India.
