Motorola Expands Indian Portfolio with New Wearable and Smartphone
Motorola has significantly broadened its product offerings in the Indian market with the simultaneous launch of the Moto Watch, powered by Polar technology, and the unveiling of its new flagship smartphone, the Motorola Signature. This dual announcement underscores the company's strategic initiative to develop a cohesive ecosystem that seamlessly integrates smartphones, wearables, and various lifestyle services, aiming to enhance user connectivity and convenience.
Moto Watch: Design and Display Features
The Moto Watch is engineered by Polar and adopts a classic round watch design, appealing to traditional aesthetics while incorporating modern technology. It is constructed with an aluminium body, safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for durability against daily wear and tear. Users can personalize their experience with three distinct strap options: stainless steel for a formal look, vegan leather for a stylish touch, and silicone for everyday comfort and activity. The device features a 1.4-inch circular OLED display that supports over 24 always-on display designs, allowing for constant time visibility without draining the battery excessively. Additionally, it boasts IP68 and 1ATM ratings, ensuring robust water resistance for swimming and other water-based activities.
Health Tracking and Battery Performance
Equipped with comprehensive health and fitness tracking capabilities, the Moto Watch offers workout tracking, sleep monitoring, continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking for blood oxygen levels, and Nightly ANS recharge insights to assess recovery. It includes dual-band GPS for precise location accuracy during outdoor exercises. In terms of battery life, Motorola claims the watch can last up to 13 days under standard usage conditions and up to seven days with the always-on display activated. The device supports fast charging technology, with the company asserting that just five minutes of charging can provide enough power for a full day of use, minimizing downtime and enhancing convenience for busy users.
Compatibility, Colors, and Availability
The smartwatch is compatible with devices running Android 12 and above, ensuring broad accessibility for Android users. It is available in two elegant color options for the case: Matte Black and Matte Silver, catering to different style preferences. Motorola has introduced the Moto Watch in six variants, with pricing starting at Rs 5,999 for the silicone strap model at launch. The metal and vegan leather strap variants are priced slightly higher at Rs 6,999. While the exact sale date has not been disclosed, Motorola has confirmed that availability will commence soon through official channels, making it accessible to consumers across India.
This launch represents a significant step for Motorola in strengthening its presence in the competitive Indian tech market, particularly in the wearable segment, by offering feature-rich devices at competitive price points.
