Forza Horizon 6 Save Data Loss Warning Issued

The Forza support team has issued a warning to players of Forza Horizon 6 following numerous reports of lost or reset save game progress. Developers have confirmed they are actively investigating the issue and have urged affected users to contact support as soon as possible to maximize the chances of recovering their progress.

In an official statement, the team advised players experiencing save data loss to immediately submit a support ticket. The support team explained, “This will allow our team to investigate your case and attempt to recover your save profile by reverting your progress back to an earlier save. We highly advise that you submit your ticket the same day the issue occurs to increase the chances of recovery.”

Developers have also requested that players refrain from creating new saves or starting new game sessions until their support request has been reviewed. While the exact cause of the issue has not yet been confirmed, reports within the Forza Horizon 6 community suggest it may be linked to a limited selection of cars recently introduced as in-game rewards.

Specific Cars to Avoid

According to player reports, the issue may be associated with certain vehicles, including the 1993 Schuppan 962CR, 2003 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000QV, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, and the 2020 Wuling Sunshine S Forza Edition. While some players have used these vehicles without any problems, community members have generally advised against modding them—such as painting, applying liveries or decals, and sharing designs—until more information becomes available.

Recommended Precautions

In addition to investigating the issue, the support team has shared several recommendations to reduce the risk of progress loss. Developers are suggesting that Xbox Series X|S users playing Forza Horizon 6 turn off the Quick Resume feature. Players are also encouraged to stay connected to the internet when leaving the game, allow ample time for cloud sync to complete, avoid force-closing the game during saves, and not switch off the console during active gameplay.

The support team also highlighted additional risks for players who switch between platforms, such as moving between Xbox consoles, PCs, and cloud gaming services. “Before turning off your console, shutting down your PC, or force closing the Steam app, give your devices or clients at least a few minutes to ensure your latest progress has been synchronized with the cloud. This will reduce the risk of progress reversions as you switch between different platforms. Xbox Series X|S consoles, Steam, and the Xbox app on PC all include game save indicators that confirm your progress has been synced,” the team noted.

No Timeline for Fix

The developers have not yet provided a timeline for a fix or disclosed the root cause of the save file issue. Until further information is available, affected players are encouraged to report incidents promptly and follow the recommended precautions to minimize the risk of losing game progress.
