Historic Milestone for India's Space Ambitions
In a significant advancement for India's space exploration efforts, Godrej Enterprises Group's Aerospace division has successfully delivered the first human-rated L110 Vikas engine to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This critical component has been handed over to ISRO's Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre and will play a vital role in the ambitious Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.
Engine Specifications and Mission Criticality
The L110 Vikas engine represents a core element of the LVM-3 launch vehicle, which will be specially configured as a Human-Rated Launch Vehicle (HRLV) for carrying Indian astronauts into space. This human-rated version ensures enhanced safety and reliability standards necessary for crewed missions, marking a substantial technological leap for India's space capabilities.
Maneck Behramkamdin, Executive Vice President & Business Head of Godrej Enterprises Group's Aerospace business, expressed immense pride in this accomplishment. "This is not just a milestone for Godrej but also a matter of immense national pride," he stated.
