Western Railway to Undertake Major Block at Marine Lines Station for FOB Work
WR Major Block at Marine Lines for FOB Girder Launch

Mumbai: Western Railway will undertake a major block during the intervening night of May 30/31, 2026, for launching Foot Over Bridge girders by road crane between Platforms 3 and 4 at Marine Lines station.

WR chief spokesperson Vineet Abhishek said the block will be taken on all lines at Marine Lines. Owing to the work, a few suburban services will be cancelled or partially cancelled during the block period. Commuters are advised to check updated train information before travel and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during late-night operations, he added.

This essential infrastructure upgrade aims to enhance passenger safety and convenience at the station. The Foot Over Bridge will provide a dedicated crossing for commuters, reducing the need to cross tracks. The work involves precision lifting of heavy girders using a road crane, requiring temporary suspension of train services on all lines.

The block is scheduled during low-traffic hours to minimize disruption, but some adjustments to train schedules are inevitable.

Western Railway apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks commuters for their cooperation. Further updates will be provided as the work progresses.
