Severe Injuries Sustained by the Brothers

10-year-old Alok Kushwaha suffered devastating injuries, losing his thumb and four fingers in the explosion. His younger brother, 8-year-old Anuj Kumar, also sustained significant injuries. Due to their injuries, the boys were unable to appear for their scheduled examination papers, adding to the family's distress.

Emergency Medical Response and Treatment

Both children were immediately rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Smriti Hospital in Rewa, where they were admitted for urgent medical treatment. Majhigawan panchayat sarpanch Motilal Saket confirmed the details, stating, "Both the kids were playing with an old cell phone battery and, as the two were alone, no one exactly knows what they did when the battery exploded, leading to injuries. The incident took place on Friday evening and both were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, where their treatment is going on."

Advanced Care Required for Critical Injuries

Due to the severity of his injuries, Alok was later taken by family members to Jabalpur for advanced medical care, underscoring the critical nature of the incident. Family members revealed that the old battery had been removed from a mobile phone and kept in the house, a common but hazardous practice.
