Tata Motors has introduced the new Tata Altroz CNG with an AMT gearbox in the Indian market. With this addition, the Altroz becomes the only hatchback in its segment to offer an automatic transmission paired with a CNG powertrain. Customers can book the Altroz CNG AMT online or at their nearest dealership, with deliveries expected to begin soon. The model continues to compete with the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
Variants and Pricing
The Tata Altroz CNG AMT is offered in five variants: Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, and Accomplished S. Prices range from Rs 8.70 lakh to Rs 10.77 lakh (both ex-showroom). The CNG version features a 210-litre boot with twin-cylinder technology, which is lower than the 345-litre luggage capacity available in the petrol and diesel variants.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Altroz CNG AMT is powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces 88hp of power and 115Nm of torque in petrol mode. In CNG mode, the engine delivers 73.5hp and 103Nm. The 5-speed AMT gearbox is the same transmission unit already available in the petrol variants of the Tata Altroz.
Features and Safety
The Altroz CNG AMT comes loaded with features including six airbags, an electronic stability program, 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, LED fog lights, a connecting LED light bar at the rear, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof with voice commands, a fast-charging wireless mobile charger, a 360-degree camera setup, LED daytime running lamps, ambient cabin lighting, rear AC vents, push-button start/stop, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
