Halter, a pioneering agtech startup based in New Zealand, has successfully raised $220 million in a Series E funding round, propelling its valuation to an impressive $2 billion. This substantial capital injection, spearheaded by American entrepreneur Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, marks a significant milestone in the company's mission to transform global cattle farming through innovative artificial intelligence solutions.

Halter currently serves over 2,000 ranchers and farmers across New Zealand, Australia, and the U.S., with more than a million solar-powered collars sold. Since its U.S. launch in 2024, American users have implemented 60,000 miles of virtual fencing, showcasing the technology's practical benefits. The company plans to hire over 200 new employees, focusing on product development, engineering, and customer support roles at its Auckland headquarters.
