Ahmedabad Temp Dips to 42.3°C, Above Normal

Ahmedabad experienced a slight dip in temperature on Saturday, recording a maximum of 42.3 degrees Celsius, down from 43.3 degrees Celsius on Friday. This reading was 0.4 degrees higher than the normal for this time of year. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature settled at 29.2 degrees Celsius, which was 1.3 degrees above the seasonal average.

IMD Forecast for Gujarat

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The state-level forecast indicates no significant change in maximum temperatures over the next seven days. Isolated pockets across Gujarat are very likely to experience maximum temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, the IMD added.

Hottest Cities in Gujarat

Among the major cities in Gujarat, Rajkot recorded the highest maximum temperature at 42.7 degrees Celsius. Vallabh Vidyanagar followed closely at 42.4 degrees Celsius. Ahmedabad and Surendranagar both registered 42.3 degrees Celsius, while Gandhinagar reached 42 degrees Celsius.

Experts noted that temperatures have been consistently high across the state for the past fortnight. However, compared to the severe heatwave conditions affecting some parts of the country, Gujarat's temperatures have stabilized somewhat.
