The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for Ahmedabad, indicating cloudy skies on Tuesday with one or two spells of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius.
Monday's Weather Recap
On Monday, several areas in the city experienced light showers, providing much-needed relief from the heat. The maximum temperature recorded was 40.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees below normal. However, the minimum temperature stood at 30 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. Relative humidity was measured at 59% at 8:30 am.
Weather Systems and Forecast
The IMD bulletin highlighted three upper air cyclonic circulations influencing the region's weather. The forecast suggests no significant change in maximum temperatures over the next two days, followed by a gradual decrease of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Across Gujarat, moderate thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely in districts including Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Kutch, Surendranagar, and Mehsana.
Temperature Highlights
Surendranagar recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 41 degrees Celsius on Monday, followed by Ahmedabad at 40.8 degrees, Gandhinagar at 40.5 degrees, and Rajkot at 40.4 degrees.
