Ahmedabad: The relatives of the AI 171 crash victims held a prayer meet in London on Sunday to mark the first death anniversary of their loved ones according to the Hindu calendar.
Prayer Meet Details
Hindu priests offered prayers for the family members who lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident. The family members will travel to India and visit the holy city of Haridwar to perform the visarjan of the photographs with full respect, dignity, and in accordance with Hindu religious traditions and rituals, according to a note shared by the relatives' representatives with the media.
Background of the Crash
The plane crash in June last year killed 241 of the 242 passengers and crew on board. Among the deceased, 53 were British nationals. One British national survived the tragedy. As June 12 approaches, the families are still waiting for the airplane crash investigation report.
Upcoming Plans
The victims' relatives also plan to hold a prayer meet in Ahmedabad to mark the anniversary. This will provide an opportunity for those unable to travel to London to participate in commemorating their loved ones.
