Amma Urges Humility and Compassion at Brahmasthanam

The Brahmasthanam Mahotsava at Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Boloor, Mangaluru, commenced on Thursday. Addressing devotees, Sadguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, affectionately known as Amma, urged people to embrace greater humility, compassion, and reverence towards nature. She emphasized that humanity must learn to live in cooperation with fellow humans, in harmony with nature, and in communion with God.

Reflections on Climate and Disasters

Speaking about the pandemic, natural disasters, and climate change, Amma described them as reminders for humans to reconsider their relationship with nature. While negotiations and compromises may resolve conflicts among people, she noted that such approaches are ineffective with nature. The only effective method, she suggested, is to approach nature with humility, devoid of arrogance, with a bowed head and a heart filled with friendliness and reverence.

True Existence and Collective Sharing

Amma stated that true existence is built on human awareness about collectively sharing the Earth, its natural resources, and abundance with fellow beings and creatures. This awareness, she said, is fundamental to a meaningful life.
