Amid lingering ethnic tensions and sporadic incidents of violence in Manipur, the Assam Rifles on Wednesday organised a high-level meeting with civil society organisations (CSOs) at Kaimai in Tamenglong district to strengthen peace and communal harmony in the region.
Key Participants and Discussions
The interaction brought together 25 key representatives, including village chairmen, secretaries, youth leaders, and members of both the Naga and Kuki communities. Officials from the civil administration and the state police department also participated in the deliberations, an Assam Rifles spokesperson said on Thursday.
Focus on National Highway 37
Security forces also highlighted the importance of keeping NH-37 open to ensure the unhindered movement of civilians and security personnel.
This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to address ethnic tensions and promote dialogue among communities in Manipur. The Assam Rifles has been actively involved in peacekeeping and community engagement initiatives in the region.
