Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar took up a broom to clean the town on World Environment Day, emphasizing that cleanliness is of paramount importance in the present times. The district administration organized a cleanliness and tree plantation drive near Luhnu Ground. Despite being a major sports hub of the town, garbage remains scattered in and around this area.
Public Participation in Environmental Initiatives
Rahul Kumar stated that the events were conducted with public participation to reinforce the message that environmental conservation, cleanliness, and collective responsibility towards nature are essential for the general public. He urged citizens to integrate cleanliness into their daily routines and to plant as many trees as possible.

The Deputy Commissioner noted that the Earth possesses vast resources necessary for human life, and their conservation is a shared duty for all. He highlighted that in the face of growing environmental challenges, adopting a sensitive approach towards nature has become the need of the hour. He further remarked that environmental conservation is not confined to government schemes or campaigns but is a responsibility linked to the behavior and lifestyle of every citizen.

Rahul Kumar explained that small efforts such as cleanliness, tree plantation, water conservation, and judicious use of natural resources can bring about significant positive changes in environmental conservation. He said that when every segment of society actively contributes to environmental protection and cleanliness, a clean, safe, and green environment can be ensured for future generations.
