The 2570th Buddha Jayanti celebrations were held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan in Mandya, organized by the district administration in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and Culture. Speaking at the event, Vijayalakshmi Raghunandan, vice-president of the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation, described Lord Buddha as a magnificent soul who renounced his royal life after witnessing sickness, old age, and death. She noted that he embraced asceticism to deliver a profound message of peace to the world.

Raghunandan emphasized that Buddha's teachings continue to serve as a vital guide for humanity to live with compassion and harmony. She elaborated on his core philosophy that the world is full of suffering, desire is the root of that suffering, and by overcoming desire, one can find liberation.

Additional Superintendent of Police Gangadhar Swamy highlighted the Panchsheel principles taught by Buddha, which he described as the foundation for a moral and peaceful life. He remarked that these principles are not merely rules but a lifestyle that leads to true happiness. The event saw participation from various dignitaries and community members who paid homage to Buddha's enduring legacy.
