Chandigarh: A spell of evening rain brought much-needed respite to city residents after a warm and humid day. The day was mostly sunny but clouds gathered around 8pm. By 9pm, rain lashed several parts of Chandigarh, cooling temperatures and easing the discomfort of the recent hot spell.

According to the weather department, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.4 degrees Celsius, both below normal for this time of year. Rainfall measured 4.6mm in the past 24 hours. Relative humidity reached 90%, contributing to the cloudy weather in the evening.
Causes and Effects
Weather officials attributed the change to increased moisture and favourable atmospheric conditions. The showers not only lowered temperatures but also improved outdoor comfort after a largely sunny day.
Forecast for Coming Days
The forecast suggests clear to cloudy skies over the coming days. Intermittent cloud cover is expected to keep day temperatures in check, while mornings and evenings will remain pleasant.
Maximum temperatures are likely to hover between 31 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, with minimums ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius. Brief spells of rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds may occur, particularly in the evening and night hours.
