Heat Wave Alert for Isolated Parts of Jharkhand from Saturday

The Ranchi Meteorological Office has issued a heat wave alert for isolated parts of Jharkhand starting Saturday. According to the weather office, heat wave conditions are likely in isolated places in the north-western part of the state, including Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra, as well as in the south-eastern part, covering East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharswan.

Yellow and Orange Alerts Issued

A yellow alert has been issued for these regions, while an orange alert for heat wave has been specifically issued for May 25 and 26 in Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra. Additionally, a yellow alert for thunderstorm and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour, has been predicted for Dhanbad and Bokaro on May 24. A thunderstorm alert has also been issued for isolated places over central and southern parts of the state on May 25.

Temperature Outlook

The Met office stated that there will not be a significant change in maximum temperatures over the next five days. Notably, isolated parts of the state received very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the 24 hours ending Friday morning. The highest rainfall of 7.6 mm was recorded in Jamtara.

Recorded Temperatures

On Friday, Daltonganj recorded the highest daytime temperature in the state at 45.2 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 38.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.5 degrees Celsius.
