Heavy showers accompanied by thunder activity pounded Karnataka's Bhadravathi town on June 22, while coastal regions experienced only light rainfall, according to the Deccan Herald.
Bhadravathi Hit by Two-Hour Downpour
The sky remained overcast until afternoon. At 2 pm, rain began coupled with thunder and continued for the next two hours, bringing significant precipitation to the area. The sudden downpour disrupted normal life in the town.
Coastal Karnataka Sees Light Showers
In contrast, the coastal belt of Karnataka witnessed only light rains during the same period. The weather department had earlier forecast widespread rainfall across the state, but the intensity varied regionally.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were reported from Bhadravathi or the coastal areas. Authorities are monitoring the situation as the monsoon season progresses.
