Mumbai: An injured deer was spotted in the shrubs near Royal Palms housing society abutting Aarey Colony. The deer has been lying there for the last three days without eating or drinking water, and it is not moving from the spot, according to local resident Jubair Ansari.
Resident Spots the Deer
Ansari, who noticed the deer from his window, promptly informed the forest department. Officials visited the site on Monday and confirmed that the deer appeared to be injured. They assured Ansari that the animal would be rescued by Tuesday at the latest.
Forest Department Response
Kiran Patil, deputy conservator of the South Division, stated that the Thane Division had been notified about the injured deer. However, Pradip Patil, another deputy conservator, said he was unaware of the situation. The delay in rescue has raised concerns among local residents, who are anxious about the deer's well-being.
The incident highlights the ongoing human-wildlife conflict in urban areas like Aarey Colony, which is home to diverse fauna. Residents hope for a swift resolution and the deer's safe recovery.
