Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday directed the Indian Railways to furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the completion of a road project near Jonha Falls on the outskirts of Ranchi. The court had initiated a suo motu Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the construction of a road from Masrijara village to Hesalbeda village in Angara block, following newspaper reports highlighting the difficulties faced by villagers in their daily lives and in accessing healthcare facilities.
Road Project and Railway NOC
The proposed road passes around railway lines, necessitating an NOC from the railways before construction can begin. The court has scheduled the next hearing for July 9. The state government also submitted a copy of the case diary and forensic report regarding the examination of slain gangster Aman Sao to the High Court in a sealed cover. Sao's mother, Kiran Devi, had filed a plea seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the encounter. The case will be heard after three weeks. Sao was killed in an encounter on March 11, 2025.
