Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 Launched in Kanpur

The Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 was officially launched on Tuesday at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dalip Nagar, which operates under Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in Kanpur. The initiative aims to address the declining health of agricultural fields in the region.

Chief Guest Highlights Soil Health

Addressing the programme as chief guest, block head Shivrajpur Shubham Bajpei emphasized that the health of fields is deteriorating day by day. To improve field health, it is necessary to know the level of nutrients present in the soil. He stressed that soil testing is essential, followed by the use of nutrients in balanced quantities.

Recommended Practices for Soil Improvement

Bajpei highlighted several methods to enhance soil fertility, including the use of cow dung manure, vermi compost, compost, natural farming, and green manure. He also stressed the adoption of crop rotation and the selection of crops suitable to the specific field conditions. These practices, he noted, are crucial for sustainable agriculture and long-term soil health.
