Krishvi Arora dominates U-17 final, battles to U-19 title
Amritsar's Krishvi Arora emerged as the standout performer on the second day of the 2nd Punjab State Ranking Table Tennis Championship, held at the Table Tennis Hall in Rakh Bagh, Ludhiana. She clinched both the under-17 and under-19 girls' singles titles, showcasing her versatility and endurance.
In the U-17 final, Krishvi displayed complete dominance, defeating Ludhiana's Kavya Gupta 3-0 in straight games. However, the U-19 category proved more challenging, as she staged a spirited comeback to overcome Shanaya Tyagi of Jalandhar 3-2 in a hard-fought contest.
Boys' singles titles also go to Amritsar
In the U-19 boys' singles final, Trikal Vohra of Amritsar edged past his city mate Rajveer Singh Bhatia 3-2 in a thrilling five-game match to lift the title. The U-17 boys' title also went to Amritsar, as Devasya Khanna outclassed Trikal Vohra 3-0 in a one-sided final.
Pre-quarterfinal action in younger categories
The pre-quarterfinal matches in the U-15 boys' and girls' categories featured several exciting contests, with players from Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Patiala, Fatehgarh, and Jalandhar advancing to the next round. Atul Nanda, president of the Punjab Table Tennis Association, and Pankaj Sharma, advisor, attended the championship as chief guests.
