Maharashtra's Performance Highlights

In Maharashtra, KVs maintained their dominance with a pass percentage of 98.35%, nearly 12 percentage points higher than independent schools in the state, which recorded 86.16%. JNVs in Maharashtra outperformed all other institution types with an exceptional 99.13% pass rate. The overall pass percentage for the state stood at 87.04%, with girls outperforming boys—88.66% compared to 85.65%.

Reasons Behind Consistent Success

The KV network, operated by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education, primarily serves children of central government employees and defence personnel. These schools follow a standardized curriculum, centralized administration, and a uniform academic calendar across all locations. Education administrators have long attributed the consistency in results to these structured academic support systems and trained faculty pools.

Both KVs and JNVs consistently top institutional performance charts in CBSE results, benefiting from centrally administered infrastructure and robust academic frameworks that set them apart from independently run schools affiliated with the board.
