Man Dies Trapped in Slush at Vallur Dam Near Chennai

A 31-year-old man died after getting trapped in slush while bathing with friends in Vallur dam on the Kosasthalaiyar River near Minjur in Chennai on Friday.

Incident Details

The victim was identified as Aravind Prakash, a resident of Pammal, who worked at a private finance company. He visited the dam in the Seemavaram area with friends on his day off. Upon entering the water, he slipped into a slushy patch and became stuck. His friends, unable to locate him, alerted the police.

Rescue Operation

Minjur police and a fire and rescue team from Ponneri launched a search operation. After approximately one hour, they recovered his body. The body was sent to Government Stanley Hospital for postmortem examination.
