Pandavapura Police Seize Ganja Worth Rs 10 Lakh

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics trade, the Pandavapura police have arrested three individuals on charges of involvement in ganja trafficking and seized contraband worth nearly Rs 10 lakh, along with a four-wheeler allegedly used for transportation.

Operation Details

Police officials stated that they received credible information about individuals attempting to sell ganja near Kuntibetta in Pandavapura taluk. Acting under the directions of Mandya Superintendent of Police V.J. Shobharani, a special team led by Pandavapura police inspector H.P. Sharath Kumar conducted a raid at the specified location.

Seizure and Arrests

During the operation, the police seized 20.6 kilograms of dry ganja valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh and detained the suspects. Further investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly procured the ganja from Kesinga in Odisha and transported it to Pandavapura for illegal sale at higher prices.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shreyas Gowda (20), Shashikumar (34), and Vinoda alias Madhu (41), all residents of Pandavapura. They were produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody. Meanwhile, three other suspects involved in the case remain absconding.

The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the fugitives and are investigating the wider network of drug trafficking in the region.
