Indian Railways has officially regularised the Train No. 09057/09058 Surat-Mangaluru Junction-Surat Special service, redesignating it as Train No. 19057/19058 Surat-Mangaluru Junction-Surat Bi-Weekly Express. This change marks a significant step in enhancing connectivity between the two cities.
Service Commencement and Schedule
The regularised service will commence from Surat on June 3 and from Mangaluru Junction on June 4. According to a press release from Konkan Railway, Train No. 19057 Surat-Mangaluru Junction Bi-Weekly Express will depart from Surat at 7:35 PM every Wednesday and Sunday, arriving at Mangaluru Junction at 7:45 PM the following day. In the opposite direction, Train No. 19058 Mangaluru Junction–Surat Bi-Weekly Express will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 10:30 PM every Thursday and Monday, reaching Surat at 11:45 PM the next day.
Halts and Coach Composition
The train will make stops at several stations along the Konkan Railway route, including Karwar, Ankola, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, and Surathkal. This will provide convenient access for passengers traveling to and from these coastal towns.
The train will consist of a total of 20 coaches, comprising one AC 2-tier coach, seven AC 3-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, four general coaches, and two SLR/D (luggage and brake van) coaches. This composition ensures a mix of comfort and affordability for various passenger segments.
