In a significant operation, the police in Dakshina Kannada district have arrested three individuals and seized MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) valued at Rs 7.64 lakh. The contraband was confiscated during a routine check in the Bantwal region.
Details of the Seizure
According to police officials, the three accused were apprehended while transporting the narcotic substance. Along with the MDMA, law enforcement also recovered three mobile phones belonging to the arrested individuals and the vehicle that was allegedly used for transporting the drugs. The total value of the seized items, including the narcotics, is estimated at Rs 7.64 lakh.
Legal Proceedings
The arrested individuals have been identified and are currently in police custody. They are being interrogated to ascertain the source of the drugs and their network. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway.
