TN SSLC Result 2026: 94.31% Pass, Girls Lead

The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, announced the TN SSLC Result 2026 on May 20, revealing an overall pass percentage of 94.31 per cent for Class 10 public examinations. This marks a slight increase from the previous year’s 93.80 per cent. A total of 8,70,643 students appeared for the SSLC examinations conducted between March 11 and April 6 across the state. Among them, 4,35,247 were girls and 4,35,396 were boys.

Girls Secure Higher Pass Percentage

Girls outperformed boys in the Tamil Nadu SSLC examinations this year, recording a pass percentage of 96.47 per cent. Boys registered a pass percentage of 92.15 per cent, resulting in a performance gap of 4.32 percentage points between the two groups. The gender-wise data released by the Directorate of Government Examinations showed female students continuing to maintain stronger overall results in the state board examinations.

More Than 8 Lakh Students Clear Examinations

Out of the 8,70,643 students who appeared for the examinations, 8,21,105 candidates successfully passed the SSLC board examinations this year. The results were released online at 9:30 am through multiple official portals, including tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in. Students can access their provisional marksheets using their registration number and date of birth. The provisional scorecards contain subject-wise marks, total score, qualifying status, and candidate details. Students can also download their digital marksheets through DigiLocker and UMANG applications.

School Category Performance Released

The board also released school-wise performance data along with the results. Private schools secured the highest overall pass percentage at 98.14 per cent. Government schools recorded a pass percentage of 91.86 per cent, while aided schools secured 94.34 per cent. In terms of school type, girls’ schools achieved a pass percentage of 96.42 per cent, whereas boys’ schools recorded 88.50 per cent.

Thousands of Schools Secure Cent Per Cent Results

A total of 12,467 schools participated in the SSLC examinations this year. Among them, 5,171 schools secured a 100 per cent pass result. Of these, 1,931 were government schools. The board data further showed that 8,233 schools recorded pass percentages above 95 per cent, including 3,463 government schools across Tamil Nadu.
