When he returned home for lunch, he found both daughters missing and began searching the neighbourhood. During the search, the girls were found unconscious inside the parked car. They were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Ramesh said people at the repair centre had earlier noticed the children near the vehicle and had asked them to move away. Vaishali Nagar SHO Gurudatt Saini said the car was in a damaged condition and its engine and battery were switched off. He noted that the vehicle did not auto-lock, but the children were unable to open the door from inside after it shut.
