The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) is participating in the Vikas Pradarshani, an exhibition being organized from June 17 at Brijendra Swaroop Park in Benajhabar, Kanpur.
Following the inauguration of the exhibition, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited and reviewed the Uttar Pradesh Metro stall. The event was also attended by Kanpur Nagar MP Ramesh Awasthi, along with MLAs Surendra Maithani and Mahesh Trivedi.
Attractive Metro Stall Highlights Achievements
The UP Metro stall has been designed attractively to showcase information about various Metro rail projects and their achievements across Uttar Pradesh. Particular emphasis has been placed on the Kanpur Metro Rail project, with project highlights being presented through photographs, visual displays, and informative exhibits. The stall also highlights Kanpur Metro’s remarkable performance in the Key Performance Index, demonstrating its strong standing among metro systems operating in other Tier-II cities across India.

On this occasion, Sushil Kumar, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, said, “Kanpur is the second most populous city in Uttar Pradesh and is widely known as the ‘Manchester of the East.’ The Metro Rail project is providing fresh momentum and energy to Kanpur’s economy. Passenger services will soon be extended from Kanpur Central to Naubasta, and preparations for this are progressing rapidly. Simultaneously, construction work on Corridor-2, from CSA to Barra-8, is also advancing at a fast pace.”
