The State Meteorological Centre has issued yellow weather warnings for several districts in Himachal Pradesh, predicting continued heavy rainfall through July 14. For Thursday, July 9, alerts are in effect for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, and Sirmour districts.
Temperature Trends and Forecast
Minimum temperatures across the state are expected to remain normal until July 13, but maximum temperatures are likely to decrease by 2°C to 6°C during the same period. The highest maximum temperature recorded in the state was 33.3°C in Kullu district's Bhuntar, while the lowest minimum temperature was 9.8°C in Kukumseri, Lahaul and Spiti district.
Maximum temperatures in various locations included Shimla at 22.2°C, Dharamsala at 30°C, Manali at 20.8°C, Solan at 26.5°C, Kangra at 30.9°C, Mandi at 26.8°C, Sundernagar at 27.1°C, Kufri at 18.6°C, Keylong at 17.2°C, Una at 33°C, Kalpa at 19°C, Narkanda at 18.1°C, Nahan at 26.9°C, and Chamba at 29.2°C.
Rainfall Data from Past 24 Hours
Light rain was observed in isolated areas over the past 24 hours. Sandhole in Mandi district recorded 80 mm of rainfall, while Mandi itself received 56.2 mm. Other notable rainfall measurements include Dharamsala with 46.3 mm, Palampur with 32.8 mm, Sundernagar with 27.2 mm, Bilaspur with 20 mm, Narkanda with 10.5 mm, Bhuntar and Keylong each with 10 mm, Hamirpur with 7.5 mm, and Manali with 6 mm.
Minimum temperatures across the state ranged between 9°C and 26°C, while maximum temperatures ranged from 17°C to 33°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) continues to monitor the situation, and residents in affected areas are advised to stay cautious.
