The State Meteorological Centre in Himachal Pradesh has issued a yellow weather alert for Kinnaur district, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated places on Wednesday. The alert warns residents and travellers of potential disruptions due to sudden weather changes.
Weather Forecast Details
According to the Meteorological Centre, light to moderate rain is very likely in isolated parts of Kinnaur. Additionally, light rain may occur in scattered areas across the state during the day. The centre has advised caution for those in vulnerable areas, as thunderstorms and gusty winds could lead to temporary damage to structures and trees.
Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh are expected to remain largely stable, with no significant change forecast. This follows a period of normal seasonal conditions, though the yellow alert indicates a need for vigilance in the high-altitude district.

Impact and Advisory
The yellow alert for Kinnaur is part of the ongoing monsoon monitoring by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Such alerts are issued to warn of weather conditions that could cause inconvenience but are not severe enough for an orange or red alert. Residents and tourists in Kinnaur are advised to stay updated on local weather bulletins and avoid unnecessary travel during the alert period.
Light rain in other parts of the state is not expected to cause major disruptions, but farmers and outdoor workers should be prepared for brief spells of rain and gusty winds. The Meteorological Centre continues to track the weather and will update advisories as needed.
