16-Year-Old Abducted Girl Rescued from Delhi, Back in Nagpur

Nagpur: A 16-year-old girl who was abducted in 2022 has been rescued from Delhi and safely brought back to Nagpur. The girl, who is the niece of the complainant, went missing on September 28, 2022, from the Ajni police station limits after leaving her home to visit a tailor. A case of kidnapping was subsequently registered at the Ajni police station.

Rescue Operation

Acting on specific intelligence received on May 22, 2026, the Crime Branch's anti-trafficking unit intercepted the girl at Nagpur railway station while she was returning from Delhi. The authorities had been tracking leads related to her disappearance and successfully located her during her journey back.

Counselling and Handover

After the rescue, the girl was thoroughly counselled by the anti-trafficking unit to ensure her emotional and psychological well-being. She was then handed over to the Ajni police for further legal proceedings and to reunite her with her family.
