Lucknow: Thirty-eight students from Uttar Pradesh departed for Arunachal Pradesh on Monday under Phase VI of the Union Ministry of Education's Yuva Sangam exchange programme, an initiative designed to foster cultural diversity and strengthen people-to-people connections across India.
Flag-Off Ceremony at IIM Lucknow
The flag-off ceremony was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, which serves as the nodal institution facilitating the exchange programme. Assistant Professor at IIM Lucknow and group leader for Yuva Sangam Phase VI, Arvind Shroff, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of discipline, responsibility, and meaningful cultural exchange during their visit.
Exchange Programme Itinerary
As part of the initiative, delegates from Uttar Pradesh will visit Arunachal Pradesh from May 26 to 30, while delegates from Arunachal Pradesh will travel to Uttar Pradesh from June 1 to 6. The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology will host the UP student delegates, providing them with an opportunity to experience the cultural heritage and unique aspects of the region.
Objectives of Yuva Sangam
The Yuva Sangam programme aims to strengthen cultural integration and mutual understanding among youth from different states across the country. Designed around the theme of the 'Five Ps' — Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Tradition), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology) — the exchange programme reflects India's rich diversity and spirit of national integration, an official stated.
