Air India Express has launched direct flight services from Bengaluru to Phuket, Thailand, marking a significant expansion of its international network. The new route aims to enhance connectivity and promote tourism and business ties between India and Thailand.
Flight Details and Schedule
The airline will operate flights on this route four times a week, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The flights are scheduled to depart from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru and arrive at Phuket International Airport. The timing has been designed to offer convenient connections for passengers.
Affordable Travel Options
Air India Express, known for its budget-friendly fares, has introduced competitive pricing for the new route. Introductory fares start at INR 5,999 for one-way travel, making it an attractive option for leisure and business travelers. The airline also offers add-on services for baggage and meals.
Boosting Tourism and Trade
Phuket is one of Thailand's most popular tourist destinations, known for its beaches, nightlife, and cultural attractions. The direct flights are expected to boost tourist arrivals from South India, particularly Karnataka. Additionally, the route will facilitate trade and investment opportunities between the two regions.
Air India Express's expansion aligns with the increasing demand for air travel between India and Southeast Asia. The airline currently operates flights to several international destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore.
Passenger Response
Travelers have welcomed the new service, citing the convenience of direct flights and reduced travel time. Previously, passengers had to take connecting flights via other hubs, which increased travel duration and costs.
The launch event at Bengaluru airport was attended by senior officials from Air India Express and airport authorities. They highlighted the airline's commitment to expanding its network and providing affordable travel options.
With the addition of Phuket, Air India Express now serves 15 international destinations from Bengaluru. The airline plans to introduce more routes in the coming months to cater to growing travel demand.
