Army Prepares for North Tech Symposium with Cultural Event at Arail Ghat
Army Prepares for North Tech Symposium at Arail Ghat

Preparations are in full swing at Arail Ghat on the Yamuna Riverfront, where a cultural programme will be held alongside the North Tech Symposium scheduled from May 4 to 6. The symposium will take place at the Cobra auditorium in New Cantonment, while the riverside venue has been chosen for the evening cultural event on May 4, for which the Army has already intensified arrangements.

At the Arail ghat, the Army has levelled the ground and begun construction of a grand stage on the pucca ghat. The entire stretch has taken on the look of a temporary military zone, with Army camps set up along the riverbank and increased movement of defence vehicles on the Yamuna Bank Road. Security arrangements have also been strengthened across the Arail and wider Sangam region in view of the high-profile gathering of national and international guests.

While public movement at the ghat has not been fully restricted, surveillance and security presence have significantly increased. Army personnel deployed at the site have, however, remained tight-lipped about operational details.

According to officials, the symposium will feature the display of advanced defence technologies along with live demonstrations of modern military equipment. The three-day event is expected to attract delegates and experts from across the country. The symposium will be inaugurated on May 4 by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Later, a cultural programme will be organised, highlighting the riverfront setting of the event.

With a dual focus on defence innovation and cultural showcase, the symposium is expected to bring significant attention to Prayagraj, while turning both the Cantonment area and Arail riverfront into high-security, high-profile venues for the duration of the event.
