Bad Weather in Patna Diverts Multiple Flights to Lucknow

Bad weather in Patna on Friday morning disrupted flight operations, leading to multiple diversions to Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA).

Flights Diverted to Lucknow

Air India Express flight IX1346, operating from Delhi to Patna, was among the first to be diverted, landing in Lucknow at 8:03 am. After a delay of over two hours, it finally departed for its destination at 10:16 am.

Indigo flight 6E6394, traveling from Chandigarh to Patna, was also diverted and arrived in Lucknow at 9:55 am. Due to operational constraints, 13 adult passengers and two infants were offloaded before the aircraft departed again at 11:02 am.

Another Indigo flight, 6E2769 from Delhi to Patna, landed in Lucknow at 10:30 am following similar weather-related challenges. Its departure time was yet to be confirmed at the time of reporting.

“Several flights en route to Patna were forced to divert due to poor visibility and unsafe flying conditions, resulting in delays and temporary offloading of passengers,” said a CCSIA spokesperson.

Evening Diversions Due to Delhi Weather

Later in the evening, flight IX1231 operating from Pune to Delhi was diverted to Lucknow due to bad weather conditions at Delhi, with an expected arrival time of 9:50 pm and parking assigned at Stand 12. Additionally, AI1839, another Pune to Delhi flight operating with aircraft VT-CIG (A320), was also diverted to Lucknow as it was low on fuel. The aircraft landed at 6:45 pm and was parked at Stand 10.

The disruptions highlight the cascading effects of adverse weather on air travel, with passengers facing delays and inconvenience across multiple flights.
