Heavy traffic restrictions and alternate routes are in place in Bengaluru's central business district (CBD) as the swearing-in ceremony at Lok Bhavan prompts a comprehensive traffic management plan. The Cubbon Park Traffic Police have implemented these measures from 12 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the event.
Traffic Restrictions and Diversions
The police have cordoned off several key roads in the vicinity of Lok Bhavan, including sections of Kasturba Road, Ambedkar Veedhi, and Cubbon Road. Only authorized vehicles with valid passes are allowed entry into the restricted zone. Commuters are advised to avoid these areas and use alternative routes to minimize delays.
Alternate Routes for Commuters
To ease congestion, the traffic police have designated alternate routes for motorists traveling through the CBD. Those heading towards Majestic or Shivajinagar can take Raj Bhavan Road and proceed via Mekhri Circle. For commuters traveling to MG Road, the suggested route is via Vittal Mallya Road and Museum Road. Additionally, vehicles from the HAL Airport side are advised to use Old Airport Road and proceed towards Domlur to bypass the affected area.
Authorities have deployed additional traffic personnel at key junctions to manage the flow and assist commuters. The police have also urged the public to use public transport, especially the metro, to avoid inconvenience. The restrictions are expected to be lifted by 8 pm, following the conclusion of the ceremony.
