In a significant boost for daily commuters in Bengaluru, the frequency of trains on the Namma Metro Yellow Line during peak hours will be reduced to seven minutes starting June 3. Improved Service on Yellow Line
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced that the revised timetable will come into effect from Monday, June 3. The reduction in headway from the current 10 minutes to 7 minutes during peak hours aims to accommodate the growing ridership on the Yellow Line, which connects major hubs such as Mysuru Road and Kengeri.
Peak Hour Details
Peak hours are defined as 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays. During these periods, trains will now run every seven minutes, reducing waiting time for passengers. Off-peak hours will continue to see a frequency of 10 minutes.
The Yellow Line has seen a steady increase in passenger numbers since its extension to Kengeri, and the BMRCL has been working to enhance capacity. The new frequency is part of broader efforts to improve metro services in the city, which also include the introduction of new trains and the expansion of the network.
Commuters Welcome the Change
