Bengaluru experienced significant rainfall on Sunday evening, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) recording 14.5mm of precipitation. The downpour led to waterlogging and slow-moving traffic in several parts of the city.
Traffic Disruptions Reported Across Bengaluru
Traffic congestion was reported at numerous locations, including Windsor Manor towards Railway Parallel Road, Lulu Mall towards Majestic, Peenya Flyover on Tumakuru Road, RV Teachers' College Junction towards Ashoka Pillar, Masjid Road towards Lalbagh West Gate, Anandapura Junction towards TC Palya, GRT Junction in KR Pura, Siddapura Road in Tubarahalli, Vibgyor School Road towards Balagere, Varthur Kodi near Forum Mall, Sagar Junction near Dairy Circle, Bilekahalli Junction, Hulimavu towards Arakere Junction, Kengeri towards Mariyappanapalya and Bapuji Nagar, and the Ayyappa underpass towards Madiwala police station.
Bus Breakdowns Add to Commuter Woes
Adding to the chaos, breakdowns of BMTC and KSRTC buses on Bannerghatta Road, at Kamakshipalya, and near the IOC Junction further disrupted traffic flow.
IMD Forecast for Monday and Tuesday
The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky on Monday, with heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of 30-40 kmph likely at one or two places in the city. For Tuesday, the weather agency predicted a generally cloudy sky with isolated light-to-moderate rain and gusty winds.
