The Bihar government has instructed the Revenue and Land Reforms Department (RLRD) to accelerate the acquisition of 100 acres of land in Kishanganj's Pothia circle for the establishment of a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Regional Training Centre (RTC). This initiative aims to bolster the country's security infrastructure.
Deputy Chief Minister's Announcement
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary stated on Thursday that necessary directives have been issued to fast-track the land acquisition process. In a social media post, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for approving the project, emphasizing that it would address security concerns in Bihar and beyond.
Training Capacity and Impact
The proposed RTC is expected to train approximately 1,000 CISF personnel annually. Choudhary described the decision as an important step that would enhance security arrangements in the state and the country. He also highlighted that the project would generate local employment opportunities and support economic growth in the Kishanganj region.
Background and Context
The CISF is a central armed police force responsible for providing security to critical infrastructure and industrial establishments across India. The new training centre in Kishanganj is part of the government's broader efforts to strengthen the force's capabilities. The location in Pothia circle was chosen for its strategic accessibility and potential to serve as a hub for training personnel from eastern India.
Local residents and officials have welcomed the decision, anticipating that the centre will bring development and improved security to the area. The project is expected to be completed within a stipulated timeline once land acquisition is finalized.
