Chandigarh Weather Update: Thunderstorms and Light Rain Expected

The city of Chandigarh is set to experience another spell of wet weather, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast partly cloudy skies, thunderstorms, dust storms, and light rain over the next three days starting Tuesday, June 2. These changing weather conditions are expected to bring down temperatures and provide some relief from the prevailing heat.

Recent Temperature and Humidity Levels

On Monday, June 1, Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 22.8°C at the city observatory. Both readings were approximately 3°C below the normal for this time of year. However, high humidity levels of 83% during the day added a sticky and uncomfortable feel to the weather.

Five-Day Forecast: June 2 to June 6

According to the IMD's five-day forecast, partly cloudy skies accompanied by thunder, lightning, and light rain are expected from June 2 to June 4. During this period, daytime temperatures are likely to hover between 37°C and 38°C. The maximum temperature is expected to dip to around 35°C on June 5, offering further relief from the heat. However, temperatures are predicted to rise slightly again to 37°C on June 6.
