The Prayagraj city traffic police are set to enforce new restrictions on the movement of e-rickshaws on several busy routes, including the Ram Bagh flyover, starting June 1. This initiative is part of a month-long pilot project aimed at improving traffic flow and safety in the city.
Revised Implementation Timeline
Initially scheduled to come into effect from May 21, the new traffic arrangement was postponed by authorities due to the observance of Ganga Dussehra, Bakrid, and various competitive examinations. According to the traffic police, the revised plan will now remain in force for one month beginning June 1.
Enforcement Measures
Traffic police officials have stated that barriers will be installed at designated no-entry points to prevent unauthorized e-rickshaw movement. Additional personnel will be deployed to ensure compliance with the new rules. The authorities are also planning to conduct awareness campaigns among e-rickshaw drivers, vehicle owners, and commuters regarding the revised routes and restrictions.
