The accident took place around 6:15 pm near the lighthouse at Warin Pada in Khar (West), according to officials. The victims were out fishing in the sea when their boat overturned.

Details of the Incident

The mishap was reported to authorities at 8:28 pm through Bandra's Bhabha Hospital. Emergency responders pulled two persons out of the water after the boat capsized. Ashok Kishan Rathod (55) was declared brought dead at the hospital. Another victim, identified as Ketan Rathod (32), was treated for injuries and later discharged against medical advice, officials said.

Investigation Underway

Police reached the spot and have initiated further investigations into the incident. The cause of the boat capsizing is yet to be determined. Authorities are looking into whether weather conditions or any other factors contributed to the accident.
