Five men of Indian origin have been charged in Canada following the recovery of a stolen trailer containing cannabis products valued at more than $2 million in Mississauga, Ontario. The seizure occurred on April 15 when officers from the York Regional Police Auto Cargo Theft Unit were patrolling the area near McLaughlin Road and Highway 401.
Discovery of the Stolen Trailer
Police located a trailer that had been reported stolen from the Niagara Region. Authorities believed the trailer was carrying a large consignment of cannabis products intended for delivery to licensed dispensaries. During the operation, officers identified several men in the vicinity who were linked to the stolen trailer, as reported by CTV News.
Arrests and Charges
All five suspects were arrested at the scene. During searches, officers also recovered two firearms. The accused have been identified as 21-year-old Manveer Singh, 32-year-old Sarbjeet Singh, 21-year-old Dilkhab Singh, 25-year-old Karan Kumar, and 23-year-old Jaiskavan Malhi. Police confirmed that all except Kumar are from Brampton, while Kumar is from Hamilton.
The group now faces a total of 33 combined charges, including theft over $5,000 involving a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and several firearm-related offences. Authorities have indicated that there may be additional victims connected to the case.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine if further charges or arrests are warranted.
