Massive forest fires have swept across the states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, prompting a large-scale response from the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF). In Uttarakhand, the fires have spread across multiple districts, including Nainital, Almora, and Pauri Garhwal. Response and Dousing Operations
The Indian Army and the IAF have launched a massive dousing operation, deploying helicopters equipped with Bambi buckets to drop water on the affected areas. The IAF has also used Mi-17 helicopters for aerial reconnaissance and coordination. Ground teams from the Army, along with state forest departments and local fire brigades, are working tirelessly to contain the flames. Over 2,000 personnel have been deployed, and additional resources are being mobilized.

The dry conditions and accumulation of dry leaves and grass have provided ample fuel for the fires.
