The incident occurred when a mini tempo rammed into a stationary truck near a CNG filling station on the Vasad-Bagodara highway.
According to police, the victims were labourers from Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh who were on their way to Saurashtra for work. The collision was so severe that four individuals died on the spot, with body parts scattered at the site.

The five injured persons were promptly shifted to the government hospital in Tarapur by a 108 ambulance. Police reported that the tempo, a Bajaj pick-up vehicle, crashed into the truck parked by the roadside, completely crushing its left side.
The truck driver, Sunil Ramsinh Rathod, a resident of Bisankhedi village in Alirajpur district, lodged a complaint against the tempo driver at Tarapur police station. Further investigation is underway.
Local residents expressed concern, stating that accidents are frequent on this stretch near Fatepura. They alleged that highway authorities have failed to install warning signboards or declare the area accident-prone, despite repeated incidents.
