Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) in Hisar has been recognized as the top-ranked government university in Haryana in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026.
Ranking Performance
The institution secured the 74th position in India and placed within the 501–600 band across Asia. This marks a significant improvement from the previous year, with the overall performance score rising to the 30.9–33.6 range, up from last year's 29.4–31.9.
Key Factors Behind Success
Vice-chancellor Narsi Ram Bishnoi attributed the success to enhancements across teaching, research environment, research quality, industry income, and international outlook. The university's research credentials also played a crucial role, boasting a Scopus index of 141, over 5,900 publications, and more than 1.74 lakh citations.
Ranking Context
This year's rankings evaluated hundreds of institutions from 30 countries, including over 100 from India. GJUST's achievement underscores its growing academic and research reputation on the Asian stage.
