Varanasi: Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath observed the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the 'mahapuja' at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. Upon arriving at the Police Line helipad in the morning, the two leaders proceeded to the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, where they offered prayers and performed rituals accompanied by Vedic chants.

At the Tryambakeshwar Hall, schoolgirls welcomed them by blowing conch shells and reciting mantras. A replica of the Somnath temple, created by students of Banaras Hindu University, was also installed there as a 'Parthiv Jyotirling'.
